The Little Wardrobe

The Little Wardrobe

Ten good things. Endless small adventures.

Children grow quickly.

Their wardrobes somehow grow even quicker.

There are the things bought for one occasion. The things that only work with one other thing. And the things still carrying their tags when they’re suddenly too small.

So here’s a thought:

What if they simply had less—but loved wearing all of it?

A beautiful little wardrobe doesn’t need to be enormous.

Start with ten hardworking pieces: a beautifully cut ivory shirt, a softer everyday shirt, linen trousers, comfortable cotton trousers, really good shorts, an easy co-ord, a lightweight layer, an everyday tee, one celebration piece—and one thing they choose completely themselves.

The trick isn’t having more.

It’s making sure almost everything works with almost everything else.

The ivory shirt goes with the shorts. The shorts work with the co-ord shirt. Linen trousers work with a tee in the morning and a beautiful shirt for dinner.

Suddenly ten pieces don’t feel like ten pieces at all.

And getting dressed becomes easier—for parents and for children.

Give them a wardrobe where most things naturally work together and choosing their own clothes doesn’t have to end with three prints, football socks and a superhero cape.

Although occasionally, we strongly recommend allowing the cape.

Perhaps luxury in a child’s wardrobe isn’t having fifty things.

Perhaps it’s having ten really good ones.

A little Chotto thought

Less choosing. More wearing. Much more playing.
